The Best Hunting GPS

If you are looking for a great hunting GPS then look no further than the Garmin Rino GPS. I personally use the Rino 130 and it has everything I need in a GPS and then some.

Before buying the Rino 130 I had to carry not only my GPS, but a 2-way radio for communication with my hunting partners. The Garmin Rino 130 doubles as a GPS and a 2-way radio all in one.

One of the great things about this GPS/Radio is it has 7 NOAA weather channels that will give you up to date weather information that will always keep you prepared. And unlike the radios that only have about a 2 mile range; the Rino 130 has a 5 mile range when using the GMRS.

One of the things I like best about this handheld hunting GPS is that if your hunting partners also have a Garmin Rino radio and you get an animal down, all you have to do is key your mic and say that you have one down and your position is automatically sent to everyone’s radio. This way they will be able to track back to your exact location to help you out.

I probably shouldn’t be telling you this, but we found something really cool that makes this the best GPS for hunting. There are actually quite a few hunters that are now using the Rino GPS and they are always communicating with each other letting their buddies know where the animals are.

The Garmin Rino hunting GPS has a scan feature that allows you to scan all of the channels at once. If another hunter sees some animals and relays this information to his partners, he will show up on your GPS letting you know where he is at and more importantly, where the animals are.

It kind of gives you the upper hand out in the field.

Try This Portable Camping Shower For Elk Camp

Zodi
Extreme

If you are looking for a portable camping shower for elk camp then I would recommend that you take a look at the Zodi Shower Extreme. We have been using this shower in our elk camp for about 5 or 6 years now and we have never had any problems with it.

It has a very simple design and it’s very easy to use. Instead of using a small propane bottle on the bottom, we hook ours up to a large propane tank and it lasts for the 11 days that we are at elk camp. That’s about 6 showers every two days (sometimes more) for the 11 days comes to around 30 + showers. And it shows no signs of needing to be replaced any time soon.

We have tried some of the other more fancy showers that are available but they just didn’t produce enough hot water to be able to take a decent shower with.

With the Zodi Shower Extreme, the tank holds more then enough water for one person to take a good hot shower.

At first there were some in elk camp that thought we were soft for wanting to have a shower in camp, but after the first time we brought it up to elk camp it has become the most important item on our list.

Here is a video of the Zodi Shower Extreme in action. you can see how easy it is to use and that it has fairly good water pressure.
